My Favorite Books

I'm just gonna confess it: I'm a massive book worm! I love to read and get super excited when I get a fab book, so I'd thought I'd share some of my favorites with you...

The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

I'd heard so much about this book and despite being published in 1997, it reached a popularity hype earlier this year with the release of the film. I instantly connected with Charlie, who narrates his life as a freshman and his journey of discovering the endless potential of the world. His naivety is easy to liken with and you can't help but love (not romantically) him!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This book is amazing. Amazing. AMAZING. I now want to read every single book by John Green that has ever existed. He is a fab writer.
I don't want to spoil the book, so here's a brief starter: Hazel has cancer. She meets a guy names Augustus at cancer support group. They fall in love and this book follows their journey.
You'll quickly fall in love with Augustus and not want to put this book down!

Adorkable by Sarah Manning

This was my holiday 2012 book and I finished it on the car journey on the way down. Sign of how good it was? I think so.
Adorkable is just one of those books you can't put down; it's gripping.
Jean is a misfit and when she meets Michael her world us quickly turned upside down. This tale of love, lust and longing is truly wonderful and heart-warming.

Falling Fast/Burning Bright by Sophie McKenzie

Anybody who says Sophie McKenzie isn't a good author needs to stay in more and read any one of her books; she is sensational.
This incomplete set of books is about a couple named River and Flynn. Angry boy Flynn has many hidden secrets that River tries (and mainly fails) to uncover. These books are amazing and I read the later in less that a day!

I would recommend any one of these books to you, so please go onto Amazon and order them!!!

germany 2013

ohmygoodness! I'm so excited! A week today, I will be sat in Manchester Airport munching on a packet of crisps waiting to be called for my flight to Munich in Germany!

Next Friday, I am going on a school trip to Germany with some of my closest friends and its guaranteed to be a wonderful experience; the history based trip will take us from Munich to Nuremberg and finally to Berlin over 5 action-packed days. I'm unbelievably excited and can't wait to jump on the plane and go on a much deserved break!

I will return to dreary England next Wednesday and will follow with snaps from my trip abroad! Have a lovely week and I will try and squeeze a post in this weekend inbetween packing...but no promises!

Bargains!

Everybody loves that moment when they get to the till in a shop and realise an item they really loved is reduced to something extremely cheap. Alternatively, it is just as amazing when you spot bargains in expensive (or cheap shops). I'm going to share with you a couple of the bargains I picked up when I went shopping this morning...

I was visiting the Primark home section this morning to see what lovely things I could get to furnish my newly decorated bedroom and I came across this gorgeous candle in the flavour Raspberry and Papaya. It smells absolutely amazing and for such a big tin it was a bargain at only £2! I can't wait to have this burning in my room!

This eyeshadow is from Topshop and I found it in the sale for £1 (bargain or what?!) It's a very deep purple and you need hardly any to get a strongly pigmented colour. I think it's worth the money as I can't wait to start wearing it for special occasions when I want a dramatic eye! It look perfect with lashings of balck Benefit BadGal mascara.

This cardigan from Primark stunned my mum and me when we got to customer services for an exchange and realised this cardigan was only £2 because it was end of line! This is a fantastic find as I'm going to Germany in 2 weeks and desperately need to stock up on winter knits. It's great that all these once expensive knits have been reduced in perfect timing for when I need them most!

This long sleeved top is another purchase for my trip to Berlin/Munich/Nuremberg during February half term. its essential to have lots of thin layers and I bought a couple of these tops from Primark at a cheap £3 per top. They are fab to wear underneath bulky jumpers and cardigans and are a good insulation layer.

Obviously when you travel abroad you can't take massive bottles of shampoo/conditioner/hairspray/perfume/body lotion etc so these travel size bottles from Primark are a God send at £1 for 2 big 100ml and 1 smaller 50ml one. it also comes with a dinky funnel to carefully put your products into the bottles. The pack of stickers makes it easy to know what's what.

So there we have it- my bargain buys from today! I love hunting out for jems in shops for a minimal price..you'll probably find me out shopping next weekend for some more!

See you soon,

Rachel Louise xo
